Alan Fox is a renowned Western Australian master glass blower who operated from his own studio, Fox Studio Glass in Karridale, Western Australia and had several apprentice glass blowers study with him at times. He is particularly well-known for his timeless, iridescent blue glass, made with a secret formula that reputedly contained titanium. He typically engraved the ground bases of his pieces with various signatures ranging from minimal "Fox" on small items to "Alan Fox W.A." sometimes with the year, on others. Alan was a prolific producer of a wide range of glass artworks between February 1974 to September 2012, until ill health forced him to retire.

Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2013.

Alan Fox is listed in the following standard biographical references:

  • The Find New Zealand Artists web site: a database of artist names that directs researchers to the rich resources found in New Zealand's libraries, art society exhibition histories and published sources.
