Born in Sydney in 1953, Susan Norrie studied National Art School, Sydney and the National Gallery School, Melbourne in the 1970s, before becoming a part time lecturer at the Sydney College for the Arts. A modern painter in oil and acrylic, she has become known for film and installation since the mid-1990s. She represented Australia at the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007, as well as in Amsterdam, Auckland and Helsinki, as well as participating in many Australain and international group exhibitions.
