About Hubert Springfield East
Born in Tasmania in 1868, Hubert East was an architect and watercolourist. In 1890 he went to London and worked as an architect for some years, later moving to Cape Town in South Africa. He returned to England in 1908, departing for Tasmania in 1921. East exhibited his work in Launceston, London and Capetown from 1918.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1993.
