Born in Auckland in 1905, Geoffrey Fairburn was a writer and artist, known for his interest in Polynesian and Malaysian art. He moved to Hamilton in 1936 and was an art critic in the 1950's and was was a Life Member, past president and tutor at the Waikato Society of Arts.
