Born in New South Wales in 1941, Kevin Oxley is a self-taught artist and has experimented with a variety of subject matter, techniques and media, including sculpture and prose and poetry writing. He has been painting professionally since 1967. One of his commissions was to paint a series of pictures depicting the history of Hay, NSW, where he grew up. Oxley has also served the art world in roles of administration and establishing The Hawkesbury Arts Centre on Campus of The University of Western Sydney, Wyreena Arts Centre, Croydon, Vic. and was Director of the Tweed Regional Gallery, at Murwillumbah, N.S.W. He was included in The Queens Birthday Honours List in 2014 and awarded Order Of Australia Medal (OAM) General Division in 2014 for his contribution to visual and performing arts.
We have records of art auction sales by Kevin Oxley from 1974 and in total 149 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 95 (64%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $2,860 for To the Back Paddock sold by Aust. Art Auctions in March 2000. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023.
