Born in Melbourne in 1938, Wallace-Crabbe is a writer and artist. He studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1956-57, as well as group shows throughout Australia. He has held over 50 solo exhibitions in Australian capital cities, the first being in Melbourne in 1963. His work has been shown in an International Print Biennale and an International Drawing Biennale. A retrspective of his 60 year career, Robin Wallace-Crabbe: a survey of 60 years picture making was held in Braidwood New South Wales in 2018. As a writer, he has published more than ten novels, plus two nonfiction works.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $2,990 for Daughter and Mother Series (18) sold by Christies in March 1996.
