About John Ioane
John Ioane was born in Christchurch to Samoan immigrant parents, He graduated from the Elam School of Fine Arts in 1985, and since then he has had many solo and group shows. His work was included in "Bottled Ocean", an important touring exhibition of Pacific Island artists, as well as in "The Fourth Window", a series of sound art installations at Artspace in 1995. Ioane teaches at a secondary school in Thames in the North Island of New Zealand.
