About Diana Cole
Diana Cole was born in Brisbane but has lived in Sydney for most of her life. On leaving school, she studied painting and drawing, part time with Prof. Bissietta at the A.D.R Art School. Between 1980 and 1984 she attended the Sculpture Centre at The Rocks, Sydney and from 1984 to 1987 she studied at City Art Institute (now U.N.S.W Art and Design) where she completed a B.A in Visual Art, majoring in painting. In 1991 she studied lithography at the Workshop Arts Centre, Willoughby. The first of many solo exhibitions was held at Signatures Gallery, Mosman in 1982 and she has been included in a large number of group shows.She has been a finalist in Art on the Rocks, Portia Geach Memorial Award and Mosman Art Prize, and Gallipoli Art Prize. In recent years Diana has written and illustrated 9 picture books for children as well as illustrating books for other authors.
