Born in the United Kingdom in 1950, attended the Bolton College of Arts, and after working in graphic design, advertising and travelling through India and Asia, returned to the UK to begin studying fine art at Preston Polytechnic, then Fine Art at Manchester Polytechnic, graduating with a Master of Arts degree in fine art. He arrived in Australia in 1979. He has become known for creating sculpture inspired by the natural environment. He has been commissioned to create public artwork for Government, councils and private organisations.Andrew Kay qualified and worked as a designer before extensive postgraduate study in sculpture in the 1970s.
