Painter and sketcher, Elizabeth Errington was born in Plymouth, England in 1808, In 1838 she married Captain Arnold Charles Errington (1806-1890), who was later posted Hobart Town, Tasmania, where they arrived in 1843. She created charming naive drawings and pencil and wash landscapes including views of Port Arthur and Hobart Town. By January 1847 she was painting in India, her husband being posted there.
