Peter Fennell was born in Broken Hill in June 1949. He took to drawing and painting as a child and had short career in banking and then in the mines at Mt. Isa. The people and the harsh outback life inspired him to pursue a full-time career in painting, so he travelled overseas to study the work of the great European masters. He has been painting professionally for over 40 years and during this time has had many successful individual and group shows and has received many prestigious art awards. He is an exhibiting Member of the Royal Art Society of NSW.
