About Alan Jones
Alan Jones was born in 1977 in Melbourne. He studied drawing at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney and was awarded an Advanced Diploma of Fine Arts, National Art School Sydney in 1997 and then a Bachelor of Fine Arts, National Art School in 2000. He has held over 28 solo exhibitions from 199 in Sydney and Melbourne, and overseas in London and Hong Kong and participated in numerous group shows.He was the recipient of the 2004 Brett Whiteley Traveling scholarship, enabling him to live and work in Paris. He has exhibited in Sydney. He was a finalist in the Mosman Art Prize in 2011 and 2013 and the winner in 2015. He won the Allan Gamble award in 2015. He was also a finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize in 2013.
