Born in New South Wales in 1943, Eris Fleming was educated at Christian Brothers College, Waverley, NSW. He graduated as a Doctor of Medicine at Sydney University, but after four years of private practice, he abandoned medicine to paint full time. Fleming has exhibited in Sydney, Orange and Brisbane and his work is represented in private collections in Australia and overseas.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $4,140 for The New Secondhand Tractor sold by Elder Fine Art in September 2011.
