About J. G. (Jo) Ewing
Jo Ewing was born in new Zealand and grew up in the Lake Taupo in the North Island of New Zealand. After training in industrial design, Jo Ewing worked as a landscape designer in Wellington before going overseas, developing her love of sketching by recording places on her travels. After three years abroad she returned to New Zealand and worked with a landscape architect in Auckland, later she becoming self employed in the same field. In 1987 she visited England and enrolled in an intensive Botanical Illustration Course at Flatford Mill in Norfolk. This taught her the watercolour techniques required to portray the beauty and endless variety of nature. Jo has taken part in many joint and solo exhibitions, and has paintings in New Zealand and overseas collections. She now lives and works in Christchurch.
