Born in Melbourne in 1932, Bill Ferguson studied at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and and Melbourne Teachers’ College. He lectured in and taught painting from 1953 to 1971 and was Head of Department, Art & Design at Melbourne State College from 1972 to 1981, before becoming a full time artist. In 1962 he held his first exhibition at the Argus Gallery in Melbourne and since then has had many successful solo and group exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide.
