Australian realist artist Nicholas Blowers was born in the UK in 1972. He studied for a Business and Technology Education Council diploma in Art & Design at Braintree College, Essex from 1989 to 1991 and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Art from Southampton Institute, Hampshire, UK from 1991 to 1994. Since arriving in Australia, since 2003 he has held and participated in solo and group shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Amongst many prizes and awards, he was shortlisted for the Mitchell Library Doug Moran Portrait Prize in 2006 and won the Paddington Art Prize in 2007. Nicholas Blowers lives and works in Tasmania.
