About Richard Atherton Fearington
Born in 1823, Richard Fearington arrived in Australia in 1841. He is best known for his 'Sketchbook from Australia' published in 1847. He produced numerous watercolours and sketches of Western Australia and its inhabitants. Many were published in 'Illustrated London News'. He left Australia for India in 1847 and then England where he died in 1855
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 1999.
