Born in Bohemia in 1941, Otto Kuster studied at the Munich Academy, privately under Bavarian sculptor Joseph Konrad and the Kempten Technical College where he was awarded an Arts Diploma in 1958, prior to his arrival in Australia in 1960. He has taught privately in Sydney and for the St George Art Society and is a member of the Art Society of New South Wales. An impressionist painter working in oil, depicting landscapes and seascapes he has held solo shows since 1972 in Sydney, Brisbane and provincial centres.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,320 for Sydney Harbour sold by Lawsons in February 2009. This year one work has been offered for sale.
