Born in Maryborough in Queensland in 1964, Fiona Foley studied art extensively in Sydney. She later studied in the Northern Territory and in London. A curator, sculptor, painter and printmaker, she has often exhibited her work with Aboriginal and other group exhibitions. She has received commissions from the Aboriginal Dance Theatre, produced posters for the National Aboriginal Arts Awards and seven oil paintings for St Stephen's Cathedral in Brisbane.

The earliest auction listing we have for Fiona Foley is in 1999 and in total 28 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 12 (43%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $5,760 for II Black Cockatoo Feathers sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in November 2004. This year one work has been offered for sale.
