About Ludwik Dutkiewicz
Born in Poland in 1921, Dutkiewicz studied in Cracow. He arrived in Australia with his brother, Wladyslaw, in 1949, settling in Adelaide the following year. Ludwig became known for his illustrations of plants, and several have been published in books on South Australian flora. He has also been a stage designer and painter, and artistic director of several films.
We have records of art auction sales by Ludwik Dutkiewicz from 1988 and in total 76 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 49 (64%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,760 for Festival Clowns sold by Elder Fine Art in September 2004.
