Born in Broken Hill in 1971 David Hart is the youngest son of the well known artist Pro Hart. He had no formal art training but received tuition from his father. He moved to Queensland in the 1990s and opened a gallery in Mooloolaba in 2001, and another in Noosa in 2003. In 2008 he released a range of homewares products bearing the iconic dragonfly image. He set up an agency in Korea in 2013, Singapore in 2014 and China in 2015 to represent him.

We have records of art auction sales by David Hart from 2005 and in total 32 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 27 (84%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $5,400 for Five Black Dogs sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in August 2012. This year one work has been offered for sale.
