Born in Queensland in 1916, Lymburner studied at the Brisbane Central Technical College and held his first exhibition of paintings in Sydney in 1937. He is best known for his wash drawings of women, animals and theatrical themes. He lived in England some ten years before returning to Sydney in 1963.
