Born in Prague, Czechoslavakia in 1950 Tom Samek studied in Bregenz, Austria in 1973. A painter, printmaker, book illustrator and theatre designer. He designed a large mural for the Engineering School at the University of Tasmania. From 1971 to 2019 he has exhibited, mainly in Tasmania where he lives.
