Born in Otago, New Zealand in 1907, Harry Vye Miller studied at Dunedin Teachers College. A painter, printmaker, wrote as an art critic for the Evening Star, and was on the council of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery and National Art Gallery. He painted still life and flower pictures in oil, watercolour and pastel and also produced linocuts and etchings. Harry Vye Miller exhibited with the Auckland Society of Arts and the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1947.
