Michael Ramsden, a modern genre painter in oil and acrylics was born in Sydney in 1947. He is largely self-taught, although he did live, work and study in the United Kingdom from 1967 to 1972, and informally studied with Donald Friend and Justin O'Brien. While in London he exhibited in 1970 and 1972 and also exhibited in Melbourne and Sydney in the 1970s. He died on 17th March 2016, at his home in Tambaroora near Bathurst, New South Wales.
