Born in Bendigo, Victoria in 1939, Robert Pope paints landscapes and abstracts in oil, acrylic, pen and ink. He has worked in the outback as a surveyor and geo-computer draughtsman, and opened an art gallery in Alice Springs. The 1979 ABC TV series, 'The Scientists - Profiles in Discovery' was based on his project on the relationship between art and science. In the late 1980s Pope moved to Berri in South Australia where he became a full time painter. He has exhibited in most states since 1966.
