Born in South Australia in 1950 Christopher Orchard completed an Advanced Diploma in fine Art, Sculpture and Painting at the South Australia College of Advanced Education. He held his first solo exhibition in Adelaide in 1975, and has also exhibited in London and New York. He has been a Finalist in the Dobell Drawing Prize on four occasions. He has moved from his initial interest in sculpture, but now specialises in drawing. Christopher Orchard is Associate Professor at Adelaide Central School of Art
