George Wilson Cooper was born in Combs, Suffolk UK in 1912 and migrated to Queensland with his family as a child. He studied at the Art School, Central Technical College, Brisbane and then worked as a political cartoonist, illustrator, animator and graphic designer. He was a Foundation Member of the Societry of Sculptors, Queensland. He exhibited and won prizes in provincial areas of Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
