About Timothy John
Timothy John was born in Adelaide in 1958. He is a self taught artist, and it wasn't until 1998 he earned a Masters Degree in Visual Art, from the University of South Australia. He has been exhibiting professionally since 1979 after being 'discovered' by leading Australian art entrepreneur, collector and gallerist, Kym Bonython. John is best known for his landscapes and his work is represented in many private and public collections throughout Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States of America. Since 2010 he has been working with several European luxury designers creating unique hand painted items.
The earliest auction listing we have for Timothy John is in 1997 and in total 26 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 20 (77%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $3,120 for East Across the Salt Field sold by Bonhams & Goodman in November 2008. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2018.
