Born in Dunedin in 1933, John Rundle is a self taught New Zealand based painter and a photographer, who became a full time artist in 1977 after working in the tourism industry. He was a foundation member of Watercolour New Zealand and an elected artist member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts. A traditional landscape painter, he works with watercolour, oil and gouache and exhibited with the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts from 1962.
