Zella Donaldson (nee McVicar) grew up around Lawrence area in the South Island of New Zealand. As a teenager she attended Tawa College Art Classes, which were supervised by Sam Cairncross, She became a member of The Kapiti Art Society and in her late twenties attended Dunedin Technical Art School. Later, while in Sydney for 8 months she attended art classes in Central Park.
Since 1970 we have recorded only one work being sold at auction by this artist, which was in 2005.
