About David Strachan
Born in England in 1919, David Strachan was came to Australia with his family in 1921. He studied extensively in Australia and Europe, and lived in Europe for fourteen years, during which time he conducted a printing business in Paris. On his return to Australia in 1969 he became known for his romantic landscapes.

The highest price recorded for the artist is $54,000 for Still Life with Fluted Comport sold by Lawson~Menzies (now trading as Menzies) in October 2006.
