Gordon Richards was born in Melbourne in 1953, and worked as a chef and then a restaurant owner in country Victoria. It wasn't until the early 1990s after moving to Noosa, Queensland to open a new restaurant that his talent for drawing and painting encouraged him to pursue a full time career as a self taught artist. He has exhibited in solo and group shows since 1995 in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
