Born in Napier, New Zealand in 1955, Mark Lander studied at University of Canterbury School of Fine Art from 1974 to 1977. A large scale installation artist, he has exhibited with the Centre of Contemporary Art in Christchurch and the Canterbury Society of Arts. He also creates paintings, ceramics and woodcuts.
We have records of art auction sales by Mark Lander from 1997 and in total 61 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 43 (70%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $1,410 for Pouring Jug sold by Webb's in September 1998. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2022. Works by Mark Lander are held by the Christchurch Art Gallery and Suter Art Gallery.
