Working in oil and watercolour Trevor Clare was a South Australian realist landscape artist most active in the mid 1950s. He was an illustrator of novels and children's books, and illustrated a book titled Kirsova Australian Ballet published in 1944 in Adelaide. Helene Kirsova was a Danish prima ballerina, choreographer and ballet teacher and is noted as the founder of the first professional ballet company in Australia. For a time he was Assistant Master of Adelaide School of Arts. He exhibited with Royal South Australian Art Society.
