Jill Lewis was born in Sydney and educated in Melbourne at RMIT University from 1980 to 1983 where she was awarded a BA Fine Art and in 1994 a Graduate Diploma Painting. She then attended Melbourne College of Advanced Education, where she was awarded a Graduate Diploma of Education in 1985. She then moved to Queensland and taught painting at various tertiary institutions including University of the Sunshine Coast, Cooloola TAFE and Cairns TAFE. An abstract artist, she has held regular solo exhibitions since 1998 in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast as well as participating in numerous group exhibitions.
