Born in Cooma, New South Wales in 1953, John Lovett studied at the National Art School, Newcastle. He has painted professionally since 1979. In that time he has held over 40 solo exhibitions in the Sydney area and participated in numerous joint exhibitions. He is the son of artist Robert Lovett (1930 -).
