Sister Dorothy was born in Swan Hill, Victoria, in 1920, and studied at Genazzano Convent in Melbourne. She taught art and other subjects at Genazzano Convent and then at the Stella maris Convent in Frankston. In 1975 she gained a Diploma of Fine Arts at the Caulfield Institute of Technology and joined the Peninsula Art Group. In 1976 she was awarded the Mornington Art Prize. A colourful naive painter, she has exhibited in Melbourne.
