Born in New Zealand in 1857, Noel Barraud was the son of artist Charles Decimus Barraud, and an accountant by profession. A founder of the Fine Arts Association, he was known for his watercolours and etchings. Barraud exhibited with the Industrial Exhibition in Wellington and the Melbourne International Exposition in 1881. He visited the UK a number of times and died there in 1920.
