Born in New South Wales in 1947, Frank Littler worked as a wood carver in a reproduction furniture factory prior to studying at the National Art School, Sydney in 1967 to 1971. The winner of several art prizes, he became an illustrator for Sydney University newspaper 'Honi Soit' and other magazines. His work was included in group exhibitions from 1972 to 2006 and he has held 18 solo exhibitions form 1974 to 2003.
We have records of art auction sales by Frank Littler from 1992 and in total 38 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 28 (74%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $4,800 for Art Meaning sold by Shapiro Auctioneers in March 2019. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2023. Works by Frank Littler are held by the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery of NSW and a further three major public national galleries (see list below).
