About Jeff Martin
Jeff Martin was born in 1967 in Redcliffe, Queensland. His family moved frequently, and he eventually settled in Melbourne in 1981. He is a figurative artist and has worked in the restaurant industry, which became the inspiration for a series of works. His first solo show in Melbourne was in 2004 comprising 30 works which featured themes from the fishing industry on the Sicilian island of Favignana, followed by further shows on Melbourne in 2007 and 2008. In 2005 he was instrumental in the establishment of the Appleton Street Studios (now closed) in Richmond, Victoria which provided working spaces for artists.
