Eugene Carchesio was born in 1960 in Brisbane, Queensland. He was an architecture student for a short period, then worked on the railways before becoming a full-time artist. His practice embraces painting, sculpture, installation, music, performance, often combining all of these in an exhibition or event. From 1983 to 2019 he has held more than 35 solo exhibitions and 15 performances in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, and participated in numerous group shows. In 1991 Eugene Carchesio took up a residency in Italy. He was a finalist in the 2012 Basil Sellers Art Prize, and the 2012 Gold Coast Art Prize. Eugene Carchesio lives and works in Brisbane.

We have records of art auction sales by Eugene Carchesio from 1996 and in total 20 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 14 (70%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $3,120 for Eternal Mystery Pattern sold by Shapiro Auctioneers in June 2020. No works have been offered for sale this year, and the last sale we have recorded for the artist was in 2021.
