Born in the Great Sandy Desert about 1925 Australian Aboriginal artist David Downs was a carver, painter and printmaker. He exhibited throughout Australia and overseas and is widely represented in major public collections.
We have records of art auction sales by Jarinyanu David Downs from 1994 and in total 109 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 69 (63%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $36,800 for Kurtal Lying Down at Muwa 1988 sold by Sotheby's in June 2000. This year one work has been offered for sale.
