Jean Inyalangka Burke was born in the bush at Anamarapiti, in the Western Desert of W.A. in 1945. Her parents walked to the mission in Ernabella when she was a baby. Shortly after her arrival her mother passed away. Her father took her from Ernabella to Warburton, where she attended the Warburton Mission school where her education included lessons in drawing. An Australian Aboriginal artist, she first exhibited in 2001.
