A New Zealand realist artist Sam Mahon was born in 1954. He studied under W. H. Sutton at the School of Fine Arts, Univerity of Canterbury. As well as a painter, he is also a printmaker and a sculptor working in bronze. He lives in the South Island of New Zealand. He has exhibited at the Canterbury Society of Arts, and his exhibition of portraits Talking Heads was shown at The Centre of Contemporary Art, in Christchurch in 2007.
