About Herbert Barringer
Born in Adelaide, Herbert Barringer was known as a gymnast and artist. He was the brother of Ethel Barringer and the husband of Gwendoline Barringer, both well known artists. A watercolourist, he painted Australian landscapes and was active in the 1920s and 1930s.
We have records of art auction sales by Herbert Barringer from 1977 and in total 46 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 33 (72%) were sold.
