The artist was born in the Haasts Bluff region of the Northern Territory and was brought up in the then newly established Papunya settlement. She began painting for the Papunya Tula artists in 1986. She holds authority over the 'Women Dreaming' story associated with the Kunajarrayi and paints stories from her traditional country around Mt Leibig (Watiyawanu), depicting, as in the present work, the effects of wind and rain on the desert.
