Malolm Hone was born in Melbourne on 7 January, 1912. Malcolm joined with his late father (Thomas Hone) at times and created many commercial works, one of which is the painted decoration on the merry-go-round in Canberra. ACT. Two of his paintings hang in the Ian Potter Museum of Art at Melbourne University, a landscape Untitled, (Farm at Emerald), 1944 and a portrait of Professor Harold Addison Woodruff 1946 which was an Art Gallery of New South Wales Archibald Prize finalist.
