Born in Germany in 1941, Ingo Kleinert migrated to Australia in 1949. A sculptor, he studied at Melbourne Teachers College. Since 1986 he has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Canberra and he was awarded a Visual Arts Board Grant in 1993.He was a senior lecturer and later acting deputy director at the Canberra School of Art from 1976 to 1996.
