About Dale Hickey
Born in Melbourne in 1937, Dale Hickey studied at Swinburne Technical College, Melbourne, graduating in 1957 and began exhibiting his work in solo shows from 1964. He is a contemporary painter in various media, and has also taught art at tertiary level. In 1968 he was included in the National Gallery of Victoria exhibition of Australian minimalism.
The earliest auction listing we have for Dale Hickey is in 1990 and in total 114 works by the artist have been offered for sale, of which 78 (68%) were sold. The highest price recorded for the artist is $48,000 for Easel Pain Ting sold by Deutscher and Hackett in May 2007. This year one work has been offered for sale.
